Rockwood Park Tennis Courts Named in Honor of Frank McDavid

Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission named the Rockwood Park Tennis Courts in honor of Frank McDavid on June, 5, 2007.  Frank has spent years involved with youth sports as well as being a competitive tennis player.  His involvement in recreation continued with his appointment to the Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission in 2004, and election as Chairman of PRAC in 2006.

Frank faced the biggest challenge of his life with a diagnosis of colon cancer, and a fight that has lasted over 5 1/2 years.  The first two years have been chronicled in Frank's published book, Colon: Semi-Colon;.  His continuing fight with cancer will be published in Chemo Sabe, Frank'ly Speaking.  He is the co-founder and advisor for Which Dollar, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide financial assistance to qualified cancer patients and their families.  Frank is still winning the battle against cancer, and it is his intention to complete his four-year appointment to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission in December 2007.
